About this tool

Pages are rendered with Mozilla’s pdf.js, the same engine Firefox uses to display PDFs. 150 DPI is good for screens; choose 300 DPI for printing or OCR. To pull out the original photos inside a PDF instead of whole pages, use Extract Images from PDF.

Frequently asked questions

What resolution should I choose?

150 DPI for viewing and sharing, 300 DPI for print or OCR. Higher DPI means bigger files.

Can I convert just one page?

Yes, type its number in the Pages box.

Will fonts look right?

Yes. Fonts embedded in the PDF are used for rendering.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. ConvertBrightly processes files with JavaScript inside your browser. Nothing is sent over the network, and the files disappear when you close the tab. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
